Intelligentsia/cream cheese brownies
It's Friday and Girl-E is wearing a suit. She rarely does that, but today and tomorrow she's going to this insanely academic conference, mainly for the excuse to get out of the office and the free baked goods. It has actually turned out to be extremely interesting, and is making very few demands on her energy, and has cocktails in an hour, so really what is there to complain about. The only problem is that everyone else in the room has a Ph.D., so when people ask her "what is your field?" she has to come up with something to make it sound like she has one. She sort of does, but that question means something totally different when one has a doctorate. She's tempted to say "Wrigley" and then just wander away.
On a totally different topic, we would just like to take a moment to say hello and thank you to new Boo-blog readers-- we've noticed an upsurge of visitors and some new "faces" lately, so just giving a shout out that we're right honored and look forward to a long and minimally productive relationship.

Okay, this is brilliant. You did not even tell me this best part of the whole story at Charlie's this evening, you sneak. I will buy you a slice of pie if you do that to someone at Conference Part II tomorrow.

I'm pleased to see that you are doing something high-powered this weekend, because last night I had a dream that you were a bigwig of some sort and had an enormous house, and I was very envious. Clearly, I am in tune with you.

you came outta nowhere and it was like i was the last one to the party when i found you. actually, no, it was like i turned around and there was this orange elephant standing there, and i was like, "wait, were you there all that time? i think i would've noticed," but then i stopped wondering because hey, it's funny, who cares where it came from and when.

Tron- You know how it is when you tell someone a story that you also wrote on your blog so you feel lame that they'll hear/see it twice. So to also tell you the joke would have been extra lame. And unfortunately, I didn't read your dare until after I just got home from Conference Part II, but that's ok, I can buy my own pie.
Jess- You know you can always come visit me at my huge bigwig house whenever you want.
Kate-- I'm not sure why, but that's like the nicest thing anyone's ever said. :)
